Do you want a place to hang out where authenticity is expected and kindness is the rule but that is also a bit unhinged and silly? This is the place for you!

As my entire existence at this point is based on the concept of “found family” and building community wherever you are, so instead of a patreon, I’m building a community on discord called Domus Beanorum (aka the House of Beans).

I am a chaos goblin and the people I collect also tend to be chaos goblins, so this will not be a traditional professional server. It’s going to have my professional offerings and official content, absolutely, but it will also have silliness and laughter and places for community support.

It’s primarily a community, not a business page, but I do need to earn money (unfortunately). As such, anyone who subscribes to my newsletter can join the community for free, but paying subscribers will get roles granting them access to more channels and more content.

The Tiers:

Folk · The Threshold · Free

I’ve always wanted to have a place where I could leave the door open and my folk could enter and leave unabated. This tier is exactly that. This tier is free because everyone needs community and I don’t want to charge money for people to feel like they belong. Come into my “domus” and join us with base-level access to general channels, keep up with what’s happening, and find a place to laugh with community.

Kith · The Parlor · $1–14

Kith are the familiar faces who support you as you support them, so this tier is gate-kept by a small donation. I am creating a space for you to exist and to belong and you are helping me afford to do exactly that. At this tier, you’ll have access to everything in “The Threshold” as well as in “The Parlor”. This means you will get more channels, more content and more ways to join in and participate.

Kin · The Table · $15–44

Pull up a chair, sit down, and join the fun. My kin get to participate in “The Threshold”, “The Parlor” sit at “The Table.” This means even more discord-exclusive content, including behind-the-scenes looks at projects, early access to content, and even more ways to hang out. Plus, we’re doing a book club. Because we can.

Hearthmates · The Hearth · $45–99

You live here now! As my hearthmates, we get to hang out around the fire and I will include you in my process in a way that you could not access otherwise. You get access to “The Threshold”, “The Parlor”, “The Table” and “The Hearth”. You’ll be in my inner circle and get a say in what I do. This means you get to participate in polls where I get input on projects, goals, plans, ideas and even just “what should I eat tonight” on top of general conversations about the same. Want a direct impact on what I create? At this tier, you get to be a beta reader if you want! Oh, and all the NSFW channels will be in this tier because if it’s NSFW, it doesn’t belong in the parlor.

Founders · The Foundation · $100+

Without the Foundation, there would be no house. If you support me at this level you’ll get access to “The Threshold”, “The Parlor”, “The Table”, “The Hearth” and “The Foundation”. This tier includes being acknowledged on my website, in any books I write while you’re a Founder, and on any long-form videos I make. You also get free digital files of every book and artwork I publish/sell, with the option to upgrade to a signed physical copy at a discounted rate.

How it works:

Decide what level you want to join and then SUBSCRIBE and DONATE to match your preferred tier. If you want to make a monthly donation to maintain access at a certain level, make sure you choose that option. How much you donate, including if you donate at all, is completely up to you. I understand that you have other places for your money to go, and I will never pressure you to up your donation amount.

The instructions for joining the Discord server “Domus Beanorum” will be in the “thanks for subscribing” newsletter. PLEASE FOLLOW THEM OR I CANNOT ADD YOU TO THE SERVER.

On the first of every month, we will verify who has donated the previous month and update roles accordingly. Changes in donation level will adjust your roles but the only reason you would be kicked out of the server is if you break the rules (and those mostly boil down to “be kind”).
